Provida Family Medical Clinic

Rosalva Acosta, P.A.-C., has been a compassionate and dedicated healthcare provider at Provida Family Medical Clinic since January 2002. She earned her biology degree with an emphasis in physiology from California State University, Fresno in 1998, and completed her Physician Assistant Program at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona in 2001. She has maintained her certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) continuously since then.

Rosalva began her career at Provida right after completing her training and has remained at the medical clinic for over two decades. Her philosophy of care is rooted in compassion, clear communication, and genuine investment in her patients’ well-being. She believes that trust and dialogue are the foundation of every visit—helping patients feel heard and actively involved in decisions about their healthcare.

She takes the time to explain diagnoses, review test results, and set expectations for treatment, which helps empower patients to take charge of their health. Rosalva finds great fulfillment in family practice, where she gets to care for patients from infancy through adulthood, often seeing multiple generations within the same family.

Her drive to serve others is personal—growing up, she often accompanied her Spanish-speaking parents to their doctor appointments, translating to ensure their needs were met. This inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare, helping families like her own. Born and raised in California, Rosalva eventually moved to Illinois in 2001 and has stayed longer than expected due to her deep connection with the patients and staff at the medical clinic.

Outside of work, Rosalva enjoys traveling, especially to the West Coast to visit family. She is married with three children and one cat, and treasures time spent outdoors, exploring new places, and making memories with her loved ones.
