 A well visit for a child or teen is check-up for any child under the age of 18. These visits are incredibly important to maintaining a patient’s health because they allow your healthcare providers to track the yearly progress of your child’s growth and health.

Wellness visits give your provider the chance to discuss vaccinations, nutrition, behavior, normal stages of development and other age appropriate topics If your child or teen is falling behind in any categories of normal development, early notice can help ensure that your child gets back on track.

Through regular well-child and well-teen visits, we support your children as they grow and change to maintain their well-being and address difficulties they face.

These treatments can be simple lifestyle changes or medication, with Monica helps meet goals while addressing current health issues and preventing any future medical problems.

Exercise

Regular exercise helps a children and teens build and maintain strong bones and muscles for long-term health, reducing issues like anxiety and depression. Inactivity can also lead to obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Our healthcare team can advise on the level of activity for your child to stay healthy and stay active.

Sleep

Just like nutrition or exercise, sleep, is another crucial aspect of your child or teen’s development. Maintaining a proper sleep schedule is critical to their, well-being. Kids and teens generally need 8 to 10 hours of sleep per night. Due to many external factors, many don’t get the sleep they need to stay well.

At Provida, Our healthcare providers can monitor for any sleep difficulties which may affect your child or teen.

Whether it’s your yearly physical or a sports physical, Provida Family Medicine can perform the required physical.

At these physicals, a provider will do a complete check of your child’s blood pressure, weight and height, lungs, heart, eyes, ears, and beyond.

Unscheduled Appointments

We encourage all patients to schedule follow-up visits, regular check-ups, and wellness visits in advance to best serve you.

Since you can’t predict when your child will get an earache or catch a cold, we encourage you to visit our online schedule for availabilities to see a provider when you need to.

If your child or teen has a life-threatening injury or is having a serious allergic reaction, please call 9-1-1. As soon as you or a family member is able, call our office so that we may follow up with the hospital or emergency department.
